Plain pod kit Flavour in Bristol: the budget shortlist
Plain in Bristol: 21 units tested over 9 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Bristol.
What the label on Plain is allowed to say
Plain sounds like one product. It is not: a pod kit running 20 mg/mL will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
A plain pod kit from the budget options in Bristol costs about £2.72 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the pod kit you buy decides how long plain tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a plain pod kit really costs in Bristol
Plain in Bristol reaches the shelf in pod kit formats, and the budget ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
How we tested plain in a pod kit
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 2–4 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in the UK, which is 20 mg/mL for retail here.
- Stock depth: 21 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Coil type inside the pod kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Batch code and production date, so a plain bottle turned in 9 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where plain goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a pod kit and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Assuming 20 mg/mL is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Treating the advertised £42 entry kit as the real cost when refills run £2.72 per 10 ml.
