Sour box mod Flavour in Bristol: the deals shortlist
Sour in Bristol: 24 units tested over 3 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Bristol.
Delivery, returns and what 2–4 business days really means
Sour in a box mod is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Bristol the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
A sour box mod from the discounted options in Bristol costs about £3.4 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
The short version: sour in Bristol works if the box mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a sour box mod really costs in Bristol
If you are looking at sour in Bristol, the first question is not strength. It is whether the box mod you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested sour in a box mod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in the UK, which is 20 mg/mL for retail here.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a box mod arrives sealed but wrong.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Coil type inside the box mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is 20 mg/mL in the UK, not a suggestion.
Where sour goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest box mod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Mixing sour with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Assuming 20 mg/mL is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in the UK sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is 20 mg/mL. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
UK rules cap e-liquids at 10 ml and 20 mg/ml, with batch codes on every bottle.
